Letter to Mr. Sutphen, 1896 October 31.

Sherwood writes that she has deleted more than half of the book, particularly the travel portions which she loves, and is surprised how much remains. She will add more details and anecdotes. She thanks him for his advice and asks how he got his name which reminds her of one of John L. Motley's heroes in "Dutch Republic."
